Lim Hock Ann Seafood 林福安海鮮 is a delightful seafood haven nestled in Kampung Buntal, Kuching. This long-standing restaurant promises an authentic dining experience with a cozy, open-air ambiance that truly shines during the golden hour. Diners rave about the freshness and taste of their dishes, with the steamed fish and fried oysters standing out as must-tries. One patron noted the joy of being treated to locally grown Matoa fruits as a sweet dessert surprise, highlighting the personal touch often found here.
However, while the food quality is praised, some reviews mention a need for improvement in cleanliness and staff demeanor. Although the setting can be humid, refreshing drinks help mitigate the discomfort, and the occasional feline visitor can be amusing, though a tad bothersome. Prices are slightly higher than average, with a typical meal for four costing around RM 269, yet many agree that the flavor and experience justify the expense.
In summary, Lim Hock Ann Seafood is an inviting choice for seafood lovers who appreciate good food, beautiful views, and the charm of a traditional kampung setting.

Review highlights
Based on 747 reviewsLim Hock Ann Seafood 林福安海鮮 is widely appreciated for its fresh and flavorful seafood, set within a cozy, open-air kampung environment that enhances the dining experience, especially during sunset hours. Many patrons enjoy signature dishes like steamed fish and fried oysters, often noting the welcoming atmosphere and occasional seasonal fruit treats. However, some feedback highlights areas for improvement, including cleanliness standards, staff professionalism, and occasional inconsistent service. While prices are considered slightly higher than average, most agree that the quality and ambiance justify the cost. A minor inconvenience mentioned involves the friendly local cats that may approach diners. Overall, the restaurant remains a favored destination for those seeking authentic seafood in a rustic, scenic setting.
The food is good. We enjoy eating here. Though it is humid and warm but the ais drinks helps. Another thing to aware of is the cats here are too friendly and dare to jump on your chair to beg for food. This is not very pleasant.
If you like a nice, quiet, and super-cozy kampung scenery while enjoying excellent seafood, this is the place to go!!! Steamed fish is heavenly and fried oysters perfect. As a wonderful bonus, the uncle even gave us some Matoa fruits from their garden as a dessert. If you think the place is a bit far or a bit pricy, rest assured, having a lunch or dinner here is worth the time and money!
It is one of our favourite seafood dinner place. This hidden open-air restaurant has a nice ambience, especially during the golden hour (sunset). Need to come early to see the nice sky and to avoid the crowd. When there are too many people dine-in, the waiting hour might be longer. We are always satisfied with the food. The food is fresh and delicious, but a bit pricey compared to other places. 4 person = RM 269
The cleanliness needs to be improved. Employees must wear proper uniforms and be more customer-friendly. Price reasonable.
It is one of the long-standing seafood restaurants in Kampung Buntal. Came here for dinner in Nov 2024 ordered midin belacan, sea cucumber soup, butter prawn (not recommended), curry bamboo clam, assam fish curry. Food is all great except for the butter prawn. One of the lady waitresses is a little rude and expected us to take the dish & rice from her serving tray. Perhaps she's just having a bad day. Pros - Served good & fresh seafood dishes - Food tastes good - Speed of food served is also quick Cons - Place is a little run-down & could need some touch-ups - The waitress who served us that day can be a bit more polite - Open air area seemed unsafe Overall, it is a good place to have dinner & enjoy the sea view. However, this place can use a little makeover.
